La comunidad lésbica de Guadalajara y la comunidad homosexual en general se enfrenta con problemas tan fuertes como la misma muerte. 

Somos el quinto estado con más crímenes hacia homosexuales en la republica, con 17 asesinatos en la zona metropolitana de Guadalajara en el año 2011. 

Cifra que nos debe dejar mucho que pensar. No es de dejarse llevar a la larga ni sentirse ofendidos de también contar con uno de los índices más altos de feminicidios en la republica  se han presentado que muchos de estos casos son a mujeres lesbianas de la zona metropolitana de Guadalajara y eso solo en el 2011. Este año se ha duplicado esa cantidad y no se ha declarado una alerta de género. 

Pero el marco real de esta investigación aparte de los maltratos que sufre esta minoría es la falta de respeto y tolerancia con la que vivimos día a día, el simple hecho de que te discriminen en un super mercado o en un parque habla mucho de la mentalidad de la comunidad tapatía hacia esta intolerancia declarada. 

El hecho de que exista una discriminación declarada hacia los homosexuales en el Estado y específicamente en la ZMG, hace que estos grupos sociales busquen una manera de relacionarse, de estar juntos y de tener puntos de reunión, dónde nadie los juzgará ni dirá nada de por quien están tomados de la mano o demostrando su cariño con un simple beso. 

Los índices hablan, y es un hecho notorio y totalmente comprobable, pero se enfrenta a otro tipo de problemas, en el marco del día internacional contra la homofobia y transfobia, se hizo la marcha del silencio con 200 asistentes que marcharon desde el Hospicio Cabañas hasta la plaza liberación. Al finalizar la marcha, se contó con una consigna, de parte de Karina Velazco Michel, presidenta del Comité Lésbico Tapatío y elemento importante dentro de la Red Universitaria de la Diversidad Sexual. 

En el evento se demostró que los crímenes por odio no se pueden registrar en la actualidad y no hay manera de legislar o de crear una política pública dónde se hable del tema o que se sepa desde que momento un asesinato o algún maltrato llega a ser acto de odio homofóbico. El problema entonces reside en que la sociedad no tiene idea de dónde poner denuncias “648 homicidios considerados crímenes de odio por homofobia, en el 2011 pero la realidad es que podrían ser mucho más: los expertos prevén que ese número, de los crímenes que sí fueron registrados, deba multiplicarse por tres sólo para incluir a la “cifra negra” de los que no fueron denunciados.”  

Uno de los sectores más importantes de la opinión pública es el sector universitario, y este llega a generar mucha influencia y visión en la agenda setting, debido a este fenómeno es pertinente mencionarlos en la problemática actual presentada.

La sociedad tapatía ha sido formada desde la antigüedad por el estado y creencias religiosas arraigadas, lo que nos hace considerar un cierto tipo de conductas y comportamientos determinados por este tipo de lineamientos sociales. (Bárcenas,  2011: 24) Lo que nos hace pensar que la forma de ver la vida está cimentada desde la antigüedad y eso hace que sea difícil cambiar la manera de ver la vida o la manera de pensar de cierto tipo de personas.

Pero en Jalisco suceden cambios, y uno de los más notorios es la movilidad universitaria en acciones sociales que buscan cambiar esa mentalidad. Solamente en el 2010 8 asociaciones tapatías a favor de los derechos homosexuales se presentaron frente a la CNDH para exigir mejores derechos y más posibilidades de mejora de vida para este sector de la sociedad. La comunidad LGBTQ (Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Transgender, Queers) por sus siglas en inglés tiene un volumen bastante grande en el Estado, siendo el tercero en el país con mayor índice de homosexualidad y la ciudad de Guadalajara la primera en todo el Estado. Gran parte de este sector está compuesto de jóvenes y en su mayoría estudiantes universitarios a lo largo de todas universidades de la Zona Metropolitana de Guadalajara.

Debido a esta problemática y sobre todo por el hecho de que existe la homofobia de manera marcada por los homicidios cometidos a mujeres y hombres homosexuales en el estado, varias comunidades de alumnos de distintas universidades se han unido para hacer propuestas y amainar tantos crímenes cometidos y sobre todo hacer conciencia social de que son personas como cualquier otra.

Una de las marchas más importante fue la marcha de la visibilidad lésbica que fue organizada el año pasado en el 2011 por el Colectivo Lésbico Universitario (ahora Colectivo Lésbico Tapatío) dónde una de las exigencias de la marcha era la adopción y la posibilidad del matrimonio entre personas del mismo sexo. Lo mismo sucedió en la marcha del orgullo homosexual ese mismo año en junio y las exigencias fueron las mismas. En dicha marcha se contó con la participación de más de 12 mil personas entre ellas colectivos de las universidades, ITESO, UdeG, UVM, Universidad Enrique Díaz de León entre muchas otras.

“El amor homosexual, la vida en pareja, la adopción, la salida del armario y la autoaceptación son temas que se van a proyectar en el festival buscando siempre demostrar que la forma de vida y las relaciones no heterosexuales no sólo son posibles sino que además pueden ser exitosas y por ello placenteras para quienes la viven”, dijo Paul Van Scoit Carballo, integrante de la asociación civil Colega.

Así como se iniciaron campañas en universidades en la Universidad de Guadalajara se inicio la Red Universitaria para la Diversidad Sexual, que cuenta ahora con más de 3,000 miembros activos entre universitarios, docentes, académicos y egresados de dicha institución.

Además de los universitarios hay una infinidad de académicos que han estudiado el tema y están haciendo o concluyendo investigación a cerca de este tema en específico, muchos han llegado a la conclusión de que se necesita una reforma y un cambio institucional en el Estado para poder llegar a crear una política.

Si alguna vez llegase una persona a ser maltratada y no solamente en el ámbito homosexual sino en cualquier aspecto de su vida, les recomiendo visitar y presentar una queja ante el Consejo Nacional para Prevenir la Discriminación y harán lo mismo en la Comisión Estatal de Derechos Humanos. Los crímenes existen, y la homofobia y discriminación también, pero es hasta donde nosotros dejemos que esto suceda. No hay que quedarse callados, estos organismos están para ayudarnos y hay que hacer uso de ellos.

 The crimes of the rainbow 

The Guadalajara lesbian and gay community in general is faced with problems as strong as death itself.

We are the fifth state with more crimes towards homosexuals in the republic, with 17 murders in the metropolitan area of Guadalajara in 2011.

The fact that there is discrimination against homosexuals declared in the state and specifically in the GMA, makes these social groups seeking a way of relating, of being together and having meeting places, where no one will judge or say anything for who are holding hands or showing their affection with a simple kiss.

The event showed that hate crimes can not be registered at present and there is no way to legislate or to create a policy where they talk about it or be it known that when a murder or an act becomes abuse homophobic hate. The problem then is that society has no idea where to put allegations “648 homicides considered homophobic hate crimes in 2011 but the reality is that they could be much more, experts predict that number of crimes that do were recorded, be multiplied by three to include only the “dark figure” of which went unreported. “



One of the most important sectors of public opinion is the university sector, and it even generates a lot of influence and vision in the agenda setting, because this phenomenon is relevant to mention in the current problems presented.

Ochoa society has been formed from ancient times by the state and religious beliefs rooted, which makes us consider a certain type of conduct and behavior determined by such social guidelines. (Barcenas, 2011: 24) What makes us think that the way you see life is built from ancient times and that makes it difficult to change the way you view life or thinking of certain people.



But changes happen in Jalisco, one of the most notorious is the academic mobility in social actions that seek to change that mentality. Only in the 2010 8 tapatias partnerships for gay rights were observed against the NHRC to demand better rights and more opportunities to improve life for this sector of society. (Reporter, 2010)

The LGBTQ community (Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Transgender, Queer) for its acronym in English has a fairly large volume in the State, being the third in the country with the highest rate of homosexuality and the city of Guadalajara’s first statewide .Much of this sector is composed of young, mostly college students across all universities in the metropolitan area of Guadalajara.

Because of this problem and especially the fact that homophobia exists so marked by the killings of women and gay men in the state, several communities of students from various universities have teamed up to make proposals and abate many crimes andespecially to social consciousness that they are people like any other.



One of the largest marches was the march of lesbian visibility was organized last year in 2011 by the University Lesbian Collective (now Lesbian Collective Tapatio) where one of the demands of the march was the adoption and the possibility of marriage betweensame sex. The same happened in the gay pride parade in June that year and the requirements were the same. In the march was attended by more than 12 000 people, including groups from universities, ITESO, University of Guadalajara, UVM, University Enrique Diaz de Leon among many others.

“The homosexual love, married life, adoption, coming out and self-acceptance are issues to be projected at the festival are always looking to demonstrate that the way of life and non-heterosexual relationships are not only possible but also can be successful and so enjoyable for those who live, “said Paul Van Scoit Carballo, a member of the civil association Dude.



As universities began campaigning at the University of Guadalajara began the University Network for Sexual Diversity, which now has over 3,000 active members among university students, teachers, academics and alumni of that institution.



Besides the university there is an infinity of scholars who have studied the issue and are doing or completing research about this specific issue, many have concluded that it needs reform and institutional change in the state to reach to create a policy.

If you ever find a person to be abused and not just in the gay area but in any aspect of your life, I recommend visiting and file a complaint with the National Council to Prevent Discrimination and do the same in the Human Rights Commission . There are crimes and homophobia and discrimination as well, but as far as we let this happen. Do not be silent, these agencies are there to help and we must make use of them.
